Advanced Programme
For high intermediate & advanced students in a mirrored and air conditioned professional studio.
Class Structure (1.5h):
30 min.- Warm up, stretching & technique exercises
1 hour - Study of elements, vocabulary, sequencing and musical application.
All material taught is traditional tango unless stated otherwise.
We spend 2-3 weeks on a theme to examine each area thoroughly and allow us to develop the theme. Themes coming up include:
Packages of 6 classes are available at a discount and are highly recommended as we believe regularity is important for your development. Drop-in is possible but it should be temporary just to see if these classes are for you.
Advanced classes are intended to open your mind and senses further and to train your body to respond accurately and appropriately in the moment. In these classes we put a great deal on emphasis on technical precision, on true connection and dynamic response so that you can produce an elegant, dynamic and clean dance that is your own and begin to mastery the art of tango. To do this, we focus on both the complexities and subtleties of the dance because therein lies this art-form.
A good dancer is a dancer that is not limited by his/her style but can instead choose it appropriately. Thus, we take time in these class to examine different stylistic approaches and different possibilities so you can get closer to truly understudying dance and movement, rather than copying and mimicking.
Tango comes from within and in these classes we want to strengthen your skills and understanding so you can give expression to what lies within.

- Training Ganchos (traditional & nuevo)
- Complex Turns
- Exploring use of crosses (in and out of axis)
- Voleo
- Colgadas (traditional & nuevo)
